Introduction by Mauricio Hernández Bonilla
This book is the product of professionals, teachers and researchers in architecture and urban planning interested in the issues of production, shaping and consumption of public urban space in Mexican cities for the configuration and physical structuring of the movement of people and products, as well as interaction, social coexistence, communication of ideas and the exercise of citizenship.
Some reflections are presented here on experiences of the processes involved in the organisation of the public space; others delve into the social interactions, the different uses and appropriations that the inhabitants make of it and that give meaning, character and identity to these spaces. It also includes reflections on the dynamics that shed light on how we think and imagine cities.
